True or False: Losing your job is the single most common cause of bankruptcy.

Most people believe the answer to this question is true, when it fact, it is false.

The single most common cause of bankruptcy today is getting sick. Indeed, disease can ruin your finances the way nothing else can, by hitting you with bills you cannot pay (and insurance won’t cover) not to mention robbing you of your income because you cannot work.

If for no other reason, avoiding bankruptcy is why it so important to create and follow a
healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life. And the best news is, it is easy to do with the following health tips!

Here are 5 of the best health tips anyone can implement into their life starting today to get them on the right track toward living a healthy lifestyle:

1. Move your body. Every single day. Even if it is for 10 minutes at a time, the human body was designed to move and too many Americans do not do this. Seriously, if you can only follow one of these health tips, this is the one to follow.

Contrary to what those TV advertisements lead you to think, you do not have to have a fancy gym membership to lead a healthy lifestyle. Dancing in your living room to your favorite music for 10 minutes here and there can really make a difference when done consistently. The secret is to build small segments of movement into your day rather than stressing out over not being able to get to the gym to do a “work out” for an hour. Small steps over time lead up to a long journey!

2. Healthy eating is not as hard as you might think. Simple, small changes can lead to big results in this department. Portion control is a huge factor here, as healthy eating has more to do with how much you eat at one sitting vs. what you eat. Ever notice the way cats graze throughout the day? Humans are designed to graze, too, eating small meals 6-10 times throughout the day. Doing this keeps blood sugar levels steady and minds alert and is a cornerstone of healthy eating.

3. Supplement. Even the best eaters who pride themselves on healthy eating can fall short of their daily recommendations for certain key nutrients. Adding a high quality supplement line to your daily regime is definitely one of the health tips you do not want to overlook. There are some very fine companies out there who offer consumers exceptional supplements that work. It pays to do a little research to find the best products for you. Choose carefully and the investment will pay off dividends over time as you stay well.

4. Sleep. Too many Americans complain of being tired all the time, often because they are not following tips 1-3! Seriously, a good night’s sleep is dependent upon several factors including elements of healthy living like exercise, healthy eating habits, and getting proper nutrition. Also, not watching television or being on the computer right before bed can help you sleep better through the night. Instead of exposing your brain to all that light and stimulation right before lights out, read a magazine or a few pages in a book before hitting the pillow.

5. Spend time with friends. Having a social life is one of the most important elements of healthy living there is. With communities breaking down all over the place, it is more important than ever these days to know you have some key people in your life to count on when times are tough. Healthy living depends upon many factors including our primary relationships with loved ones, family, and friends. And, should times get a bit dicey, with friends you know you will make it through the rough patch.

The key to making any changes toward a more healthy lifestyle is to take each of these health tips and break them down into manageable sizes. Pick one, do it until it becomes a habit, and then pick another. Lists like these are only as useful as the person actually doing what they suggest. But not doing anything at all could lead you to disaster, including bankruptcy. Take the time to start with one of these health tips today as part of your overall insurance policy against any future damage. You will be glad you did.

It is another new year and time to make some New Years Resolutions. One of the most important and within everyone’s control is health and wellness. Very attainable and easy to implement. Depending upon your current state of health, genetics, age and physical status will determine what you need to do and how aggressively you need to pursue it.

What You Need to Be Healthy:

Nutrition

Rest/Sleep

Exercise

Detoxification

Stress Management

Nutrition is the fuel and building blocks for repair and growth of the body. Your body is a symphony of chemical actions and reactions. Like a recipe, one missing ingredient and the result is not as good as intended. One missing or deficient vitamin or mineral can interfere with bodily functions and processes.

Food should be the primary source of nutrition for the body. Supplementation helps fill in the gaps as our food today is not as nutritious as in the past – depleted soils, chemical fertilizers, mega-farming, food processing stripping out nutrients… Animals loaded with hormones, antibiotics, toxins such as pesticides, herbicides, fungicides are all detrimental to human health. Water polluted with chemicals, pharmaceuticals, hormones – all of which adversely affect bodily processes.

Nutition Plan

Drink filtered water

Eat organic when possible – grass fed/free range animals

Take a food based multivitamin daily

Supplement according to your body’s needs

Additional supplementation of:

vitamin D3 (5000iu)

vitamin C 2000mg+

By taking 5000iu of Vitamin D3 and 2+ grams of vitamin c daily, I have not been sick at all. My family and my coworkers all have been sick a couple of times this winter alone – colds, flu, swine flu (H1N1)… If I feel a tickle in my throat, I take a couple extra grams of vitamin C, an allicin (garlic) immune booster and beat it before I get sick. I have not used a sick day at work in years!

Sleep/Rest

Everyone is a little different in their sleep requirements but generally need 8 hours of quality sleep. The majority of bodily repairs and growth occurs during sleep. It is a “recharging” of the body.

Sleep Tips

Do not eat anything 2+ hours before bedtime

Train yourself to stop thoughts while laying down

Eliminate noises and distractions

Go to bed the same time every night

Exercise

The human body is meant to move and several bodily processes are assisted by moving:

Digestion/Elimination

Lymph movement

Circulation

Detoxification…

It does not take hours a day to achieve the benefits of exercise. If done correctly, 10 to 15 minutes a day is enough to become fit and healthy.

Quick Fitness Tips

Build your heart and lungs with oxygen deprivation exercises

Sprinting, sprinting up stairs or a hill

Short intense bursts of up to 2 minutes until you are breathing heavy

Any heavy weight lifting that makes you breathe hard

The key here is to push yourself to oxygen deprivation (to the point of breathing hard). This forces your heart and lungs to improve efficiency and capacity. With a strong heart and lungs you will feel almost invincible.

Detoxification

In our polluted world (especially indoor air pollution) and contaminated food and water supplies make detoxing important. There are several methods to do this but 2 of the best are sweating/sauna and chlorophyll (algae – chlorella, grasses – wheatgrass, Kamut…)

Consume a chlorophyl green drink or tablets
Sit in a sauna or exercise in the heat and sweat out toxins

Stress Management / Stress Relief

Long term stress is accumulative and interferes with hormonal levels. Cortisone being the main stress hormone but other hormones are involved as well. Much of how we handle stress is determined by our mindsets and beliefs. How one chooses to allow external factors affect one self is very powerful. Generally, if it is outside of your control – let it be. Do not focus on anything negative, try to see a positive for every situation or tell yourself – this will pass.

Tools for Stress Reduction

Deep controlled breathing

Meditation

Bio-feedback

hypnotism

exercise

Notice how exercise covers, physical fitness, detoxing and stress (and more)? That is 3 major benefits in one! Find a way to incorporate this in your daily routine. Entire books are written on each of these areas so for brevity I am passing along the main points of wellness.

To recap – Give your body:

The nutrition it requires

The rest/sleep it requires

The exercise/movement it requires

The detoxification it requires

The stress management / stress relief it requires

What to Avoid

Just as important as what to provide your body for good health is what to avoid. Here are some of the biggest health threat offenders:

Sugar & HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) – diabetes, obesity…

Artificial sweeteners (excitotoxins – kills brain cells)

Highly processed foods (nutritionally empty calories)

Junk foods (high calorie, low nutrition, bad for gut bacteria…)

Sodas, fruit drinks (empty calories and HFCS or artificial sweeteners)

Fake fats – trans fats – margarine, vegetable oil, canola oil, hydrogenated oils…

Chlorinated water, fluoridated water

Do this and you will be healthier than 99% of the world. Be the top 1 percent, feel great, accomplish much and be happier!

One of the most frequently asked questions I get regarding hair is ‘Bubz, how can I make my hair grow faster?’. Now I’m no hair expert lol but I have learnt some handy tips here and there that you guys might find helpful.

Your genetics play a MASSIVE role. Everybody’s hair grows at different rates. Of course- your lifestyle and enviroment also plays a contribution. Remember there is no ‘SOLID’ method out there. However, there are ways you can prevent hair breakage, damage etc.

Now this video isn’t just going to cover methods to stimulate hair growth- but also how to maintain healthy hair. Why? First step to growing long hair is being able to maintain healthy hair. So I’ll be covering ways to prevent hair loss & damage.

Honestly- I am very low maintenance with my hair. My hair isn’t exactly super healthy to be honest. Why? Because my hair is coloured. Pollution damages it. But I can only limit it’s damage and try to pamper it as often as I can.

I hope this video is helpful for you guys. I have to say- I am actually really liking my shorter hair. Make the most out of it =) Hair grows and this is even without you trying.

Oh- I apologise about the shakiness. My cam was still set on ‘Face detection’ so when I move- it moves too. I’m a camera noob. I filmed this same day as I filmed the Japan Haul so these two videos were shakey. *face palm*

I normally don’t really recommend taking hair growth supplements but it’s entirely up to you. Talk to a doctor/expert before trusting ‘pills’. Even if its ‘100% natural’. I trust you guys to be able to know what is good for your body and not.

I like Meg Ryan. Her roles in When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle are classics. But what the heck has happened to her lips???
Her lips do appear to have undergone quite a few changes over the years. She started au naturel (1st photo), then her lips seemed to enlarge and her mouth widen (2nd photo), and fairly recently (3rd and 4th photos) it appears that things are going back towards normal (or nearly that). Here is my take (totally unsubstantiated opinion here):

Meg Ryan – Plastic Surgery and Lip Implants?

She appears to have had lip implants placed, most evident in her upper lip. Back in the late 90′s many plastic surgeons used Gore Tex implants to “permanently” enlarge the lips. I put “permanently” in parentheses because most patients had them eventually taken out. The problem I see with Gore Tex implants (and most lip implants in general) is that they are too firm to look like normal lip tissue. This can cause the upper lip to look unnaturally stiff. In addition, it can also make the mouth look wider because the implant doesn’t allow the lip to pucker normally. This result can be exaggerated with injectables like Restylane and Collagen, which surgeons use to enhance the borders of the lips.

Her lips do appear better now, possibly a result of removal of some or all of the implant, or maybe just due to laying off the additional lip injections. I like her the best before she appears to have had anything done.

Unlike what you see on many celebrities, lip enhancement doesn’t always look fake. I enjoy using Juvederm at this time to enhance lips, because it’s a very soft, natural-looking substance which seems to stick around for upwards of 6 months, possibly more.

At least she doesn’t look like Lisa Rinna.

Thanks for reading.

It has been wayyy over a year since my last DIY tutorial. I can’t believe how quick time flies.

I have been having a whirlwind month (hence the dark circles). The crazy lifestyle of getting barely any sleep, pollution, stress and exhaustion has made my skin dull and sluggish.

Here is an effective mask that brightens, tones, cleanses and tightens the skin. Yes- this mask is uber because it cleanses the skin by detoxing it. It was taught to me by Mandy. A lovely beauty consultant who swears by home remedies. This mask is designed to prep up the skin when it is exhausted or strained.

Grapes are one of the best detoxifiers. They are also welknown to be anti-aging. This mask is quick and easy to make. You can really just pop into your kitchen and make amazing beauty remedies just like that.

A lot of expensive products you use or see today all use extracts from plants/fruits/vegetables. These are easily at reach in your own homes.

Try it yourself and you will see/feel the amazing results. If you don’t have the ingredients at home already- you will be able to find it easily at your local supermarket.

This mask can be used once-twice a week. I would especially reccommend this mask after a night out or a long day a polluted city.

When your texture of your skin is improved- you will find your makeup even looks better. Infact- you won’t even need makeup as much.

Until next time,
Stay well ^_^

Healthy Skin & Hair Trick

Here is another DIY video since you guys like this type of video ^.^ I love it too because I just film what I usually do on days of the week. So this beauty remedy is one of my most sworn by remedies.

My skin is definitely not perfect (I’m a normal girl right?) and stress, climate, pollution etc can all take impact on my skin. Ps. yes i still have dark circles. They are immense.

You guys have heard me talk about my love for ‘Natural Yogurt’ for over 2 years now. It is nothing new. It works great among side with other ingredients like lemon, strawberries, oatmeal etc but also works amazing on its own too. I swear by home remedies. They are fun & effective.

Natural yogurt contains lactic acid and beneficial enzymes that helps to you’re your skin hydrated and radiant. It softens the skin, brightens a dull complexion and helps to remove redness in the face. It cleanses the skin and treats blemishes giving you a clear & smooth complexion. Just like how it can cleanse the skin- it cleanses the hair and conditions it for silky smooth hair. Natural yogurt can also treat the scalp if you have dandruff problems. You can even use it on your body because it solves skin problems such as irritations, itchiness and eczema.

You can find Natural Yogurt in your local supermarket (not processed flavoured ones lol).

A large tub costs 99p. When I buy one tub- I apply it as a facial every night and it lasts me at least for a good week! So affordable!! You never need to splash out $$$ on expensive masks when you can make beauty treatments in your own kitchen.

If you apply the yogurt mask every night for 7 days, you will feel as if your skin just drunk gallons of water because it will feel extremely hydrated. The texture should be smoother. Your skin should look a lot brighter too. This remedy has made me feel more confident in going out without makeup on ^^.

If you have coloured hair like myself, straighten/curl your hair often, use hairsprays/clays; treat your hair from time to time. Another great hair remedy is using coconut milk. It works wonders too. I am more low maintanence on the hair so I only apply once a week. Remember- hair masks can help but only to a certain extent. If you have split ends- trim them before they split further.

Yogurt is a dairy product so if you are allergic to dairy; do not try this.

It takes guts for makeup gurus to put themselves bareface without makeup out in the scary web infront of thousands of people. People are bound to judge how I look without my makeup/mask. *shrugs* I’m comfortable in my own skin =). It’s all that matters ^^. Makeup doesn’t make me beautiful. Confidence does. I am aware of my flaws and I don’t feel need to conceal them.

All the muscles, ligaments and skin which is present inside and around the vagina of a woman works like a supporting structure for holding pelvic tissues, organs and structure in the right position. The muscles and skin of the walls of vagina are included in this supporting structure. Vaginal vault prolapse refers to the eventual weakening or breaking up of this supporting structure. This condition signifies that all the organs hold by vaginal structure start losing their normal position. The organs whose positions shift due to vaginal vault prolapse include uterus, urethra, bladder, rectum, small intestine and vagina also. If medical help is not taken at the right time then the position of these organs may shift more which may cause further prolapse of these organs through vagina.

The symptoms of this condition include problems in doing sex and performing tasks like defecation and urination. Experiencing pressure in pelvic region and a discomforting feeling are two other common symptoms of vaginal vault prolapse. There are three four kinds of vaginal vault prolapse. Cystocele, rectocele and enterocele and prolapsed uterus are four types of vaginal vault prolapse. Most of the women who suffer from such a condition are more than 40 years of age. It is also true that some women who suffer from vaginal vault prolapse hesitate to contact doctor due to embarrassment. However, one should not do so. It is important to get timely treatment for this problem for avoiding further complications.

At any time, if you suffer from the symptoms of vaginal vault prolapse then you should contact doctor on immediate basis. In some cases, surgery or use of intravaginal pressaries may be required. Non surgical treatment is best for those women who suffer from mild vaginal vault prolapse and not active sexually. Getting a surgery done is the most effective treatment of this condition for those women who live a sexually active life. Home treatments for this condition include avoiding uplift of heavy weights and straining. Kegel exercises are also very effective for treating vaginal vault prolapse.

Before we tell you about the symptoms and treatment methods of Urinary tract infection or UTI, you should make yourself aware about the meaning of UTI. Any type of infection which occurs in urinary system of an individual due to bacteria is known as Urinary Tract Infection. A lot of people suffer from this disease all around the world. This infection is found mostly in women. Men rarely suffer from this infection but it does not mean that they can never get this infection.

In order to spot a disease in its initial stages, it is important to know about its symptoms. Following are some of the symptoms which are generally experienced by the patients of urinary tract infection. People, who have UTI, feel a burning sensation while they urinate. People who suffer from this kind of infection may also experience pain in back and lower part of abdomen. Feeling like going to bathroom again and again to urinate even when you do not need to, is also one of the symptoms of UTI. In many cases, the urine which is passed by people who have UTI may have unusual bad smell or blood.

For the treatment of UTI, doctors give antibiotic treatment to the patients. It is important to complete the antibiotic course prescribed by the doctor for getting rid of infection completely and preventing the recurrence of infection. Apart from medical treatment, there are some alternative treatments for curing UTI. Cranberry juice is very beneficial for those people who have urinary tract infection. It helps in lessening the infection in bladder. Various patients are advised to take 500 IU Vitamin C for reducing the severity of urinary tract infection. For getting rid of the pain offered by UTI, one may take Azo-Standard, which is an OTC. However, if a person experiences any of the symptoms of UTI, he/she must consult his doctor first of all. Medical treatment is the most reliable treatment for UTI. Your doctor will cure this infection by traditional medical method.
